What is free speech and responsibility???...

This is my first official blog for the class so I decided, why not write it on the topic for our first paper. The paper was interesting...it most definitely made me reflect on any experiences I might have had in the past with this issue. It was a bit difficult to define what was responsible speech. I realized that different people have different values and beliefs which in turn influence how they act. What I may think is responsible speech could be irresponsible to someone else. But does that mean people have to walk on eggshells not to offend anyone? There's that saying, "say what you mean and mean what you say", but if what I say means one thing to me, and to someone else be interpreted as something completely different how is that possible?
